The international response to the call to design a low-impact natural area on the SIFI S.p.A. premises has been resounding, registering over 300 applications from 20 different countries.
Giarre, 22 March 2022 – The Call for Proposals devoted to designing a green area to safeguard the natural habitat within the premises of SIFI S.p.A., a leading ophthalmology pharmaceutical company, has closed.
SIFI is located inside the Etna Park, which in itself, is an incentive to intensify its commitment to preserve and improve the territory, also for the sake of future generations. Hence the need to increasingly promote landscape awareness in collaboration with the Radicepura Botanical Park, and to generate social and environmental value.
The call has registered a significant response with more than 300 applications from 20 different countries – among which stand out the U.S., Turkey and all major European countries. This confirms a growing interest in the Mediterranean area as a new benchmark for landscape architecture, other than as an invaluable source of inspiration. Over the coming weeks, the jury, chaired by Carmelo Chines (SIFI) and made up of Manfredi Leone (from the University of Palermo) and Franco Livoti (from Radicepura) – will select the winner among the projects received.
The call was launched in collaboration with the Radicepura Botanical Park, site of the homonymous foundation that aims to circulate a green manifesto for sustainability and promote an ethical and artistic appeal for cultural and territorial appreciation and enhancement. The botanical park elevates nature as a driving force for development through initiatives, events and cultural projects that convey a universal, sustainable message.
